Preguntas para las entrevistas

Normalmente cuando aceptan tu aplicación (al menos en Au Pair in America) te dan un formato con preguntas que debes hacer a la hora de entrevistar a una familia, todas las interrogaciones son básicas y es de ley que las hagas, yo soy MUY quisquillosa y no me conformé con lo que me dieron así que hice una lista de casi 30 preguntas.

•       About the family and the childcare:

What activities do your children enjoy?

How are the kids (personalities)?

What would be my Au Pair schedule?

What other tasks besides taking care of the kids should I help you with?

What should NOT I do with the kids (example: give them too much candy)?

What do you do for discipline?

Have you had Au Pairs before, how many?

If I work extra hours how would we handle it? Would that be paid?

Why do you hire Au Pairs instead of a regular nanny?

When do you need your Au Pair to be to arrive?

What do you expect from me as an Au Pair?

•       About the family lifestyle:

What do you like to do on weekends?

Where do you live, how is the area? Is it safe?

Are there Au Pairs nearby?

Do you have pets? 

Would I travel with you if you go on vacation?

Is my family going to be able to visit me?

•       About health and personal considerations:

Where would I sleep, would I have a bedroom for myself?

Do the kids have any special needs?

Do they have allergies, asthma or take medication?

What religion do you have? (I'm ___________)

Are you in a special diet?

Do the kids shower themselves?

Do they go to the bathroom by themselves?

•       About driving and transportations:

Will I be driving the children?

How often/far?

With what kind of car?

Will I have use of a car in my free time?

Do you have curfews/rules?

How easy is the public transportation to use?

How am I going to get to college?

Cuando tu entrevistes a una familia, fíjate que sea del perfil que quieres y que concuerde con lo que buscas, recuerda que vas a vivir con ellos un año.

NO te vayas con la primera familia que te medio convenza, vete con la primera que te convenza BIEN, con la que te sientas cómoda y tranquila; uno no elige a su familia pero si a su Host Family.

Ten en cuenta que NO HAY FAMILIAS PERFECTAS, aunque así se muestren (tu también te vas a mostrar como perfecta) Ponte atenta al lenguaje no verbal, por si las moscas. Pregunta TODO lo que se te venga a la mente.
